Freitag Shows You How To Be Sustainably Stylish

If there is a brand that pioneered sustainability, Swiss brand Freitag definitely deserves this recognition. In 1993, (way back in the days when people were hardly even conscious about how they impact the planet), graphic designers Markus and Daniel Freitag were looking for a functional, water-repellent and robust bag to hold their creative work.  Inspired the urban city life and multicoloured traffic that ran through Zurich, they created an upcycled messenger bag using materials such as truck tarpaulins, discarded bicycle inner tubes and car seat belts. The ideal bag for every working urbanite, the messenger bag is designed with a comfy shoulder strap,  quick-release buckle for on-the-go adjustment, hip-belt to keep bag snug and tight when biking. Not to mention, it’s sturdy enough to hold all your belongings and can withstand any weather.  The bags are waterproof to keep laptop, mobile phones and paperwork safe and dry especially during rainy season in the country.

From messenger bags, the brand has expanded to other styles such as shoppers for supermarket runs, travel bags for backpacking adventures and shoulder bags for everyday use.

A personal favourite would be these tote bags, especially because it can double as a yoga/gym bag or even a beach bag. It has got enough space to throw in all the essentials and the wide opening makes grabbing things fuss free. Besides great design, its versatility is a major plus factor!

As no tarpaulin is ever the same, each and every bag design is unique and special on its own. You won’t come across anyone with the same bag as you, in any part of world you’re at.
