What To Pack For A Surf Yoga Retreat

Packing for a trip can get stressful, we’ve all been there! To help you prepare for a surf and yoga retreat, we share our top essentials to pack besides yoga clothes, swimwear and toiletries. Here are some useful products you will need for a hassle-free retreat experience!

Sunblock

Sunblock is essential to any surf or beach trip and we need protection from the sun’s harsh rays when out surfing for hours. We like SunBum Sunscreen because it keeps the skin both protected and moisturized without that icky, sticky feeling. Sun burn be gone!

Zinc
Sometimes, sunblock is not enough. When engaging in water sports we spend a lot of time in ocean, under the sun which means we need an extra layer of protection. We use BurleBlock Zinc on our face to keep it from further sun damage. And we love that it stays on, no need to reapply.

Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe Vera gel is another must have when traveling to a beach destination, a versatile ingredient with many healing benefits. It soothes sunburnt skin but also works well for rashes and hydrating dry skin. Try Aloe Derma Aloe Vera Gel.

Yoga Strap
A yoga mat is essential to any yoga retreat, make sure you also have a handy carrier to keep it in place. We like the Flux Movement’s 2 in 1 Yoga & Mat Strap. It’s a yoga mat sling and yoga strap in one, a versatile piece every yogi should have!

Yoga Mat Spray
Keep your mate clean and fresh with an all natural yoga mat spray such as Dharma Solstice Spray. Tip – use this as an antibacterial hand spray or apply onto surfaces to keep your surroundings clean.

Body Oil
Retreats are a perfect time to relax and pamper yourself. Bring a body oil for massage sessions and also can be used for moisturizing the skin and hair. Use an all natural, plant oil-based body oil like Brown Belly Beach Beauty’s Olive Soothing & Moisturizing Body Oil .

Beach Blanket
We love Lagu‘s line of colorful and Eco friendly beach blankets that is lightweight and repels sand. We’ve also used it as a yoga mat which makes it a great travel companion for the beach-loving, surfer/yogi!

Eco Beach Bag
We all need that beach bag where we can just easily dump all of our things in and nothing makes for a perfect beach bag other than your good old canvas bag. It’s sturdy and easy to travel with.

Rashguard
A rashguard not only protects your skin from the sun, it keeps your arms and stomach from getting rashes from constant contact on the surfboard. Plus, for women, it keeps your bikinis in place especially after a wipe out!

Healthy Snacks
Retreats are for nourishing the mind and soul, make sure to bring snacks that are also good for the body! Superfoods such as cacao nibs and goji berries from The Healthy Grocery and moringa from Moringana boost immunity and energy we need for a full day of surf and yoga. For hydration, we take Vita Coco with us to our trips for much needed electrolytes and energy.
